Dr Sagarika (Sagi) De Fonseka is a Consultant Psychiatrist. She is specialised in psychogeriatrics (old age psychiatry) and provides specialist psychiatry care to adults of all ages and the elderly.

Dr DeFonseka has close to 10 years' experience. Her area of specialities include Aged Psychiatry, Bipolar Disorder, Mood Disorders, Psychogeriatrics, Psychosis/Psychotic Disorder, General Adult Psychiatry, Alzheimer's and Dementia, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Grief/Complex Grief, Supportive Psychotherapy and Medicare Item 291 appointments.

Dr De Fonseka is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and holds an Advanced Training Certificate in Psychiatry of Old Age.

She completed her basic and advanced training in general adult psychiatry and old age psychiatry at Monash Health and has a Master of Psychiatry from the University of Melbourne.

Dr De Fonseka obtained her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist Dr De Fonseka works primarily in the acute old aged inpatient unit to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment.She also works in the consultation-liaison psychiatry setting, conducting assessments and providing management plans for a wide range of mental health conditions affecting adults of all ages. She also provides assessments in Sinhala.
